Summer ...in March

I wore this forever ago, on the first day of a warm spell. I'm somewhat relieved that it is back to normal March temps in Chicago. Of course, it's that odd season where I have to keep every single item of clothing on hand because it could snow, rain or be a sweltering 90 degrees.

This blue skirt is becoming a summer staple, and often pairs well with my tan oxfords. The cream top was a gift from relatives in Spain. The slinky, stretchy fabric and small details make it a perfect match for bright summer skirts.

I just got back from a spring break trip in New Orleans--pictures to come!

Twins

Creds to my friend Laura for coordinating this outfit. We were doing some closet cleaning and she rediscovered a similar grey dress of hers that she hadn't worn in a while. Since we already joke about how we're twins (besides her bright orange hair!) we went for a similar look. We were a little too good at the twin thing, which was slightly embarrassing since we have two classes together, but it was fun.

As you can tell, it's getting warmer in Chicago and I couldn't be happier. Ready to pull out those spring dresses!

Spring in Your Step

It only took me 17 years and 360 days to figure out that sleep is good. I'm fully taking advantage of being a second semester senior and, when I'm lucky, this means getting SO much sleep! It really gives me a more positive outlook on the day when I'm well-rested.

I started this outfit by just throwing together a few of my favorite pieces. It was a challenge to find a new top to wear with this skirt--its become quite a wardrobe staple. The coral Zara cardigan added some (of my favorite) color. And these boots, well, I just love 'em.

One more day until a fun, busy weekend!

New Boots

Minor camera issues today so I'll make sure to get some other pictures that do justice to my new BOOTS. You all know I lust after beautiful clothes, but there is nothing like a gorgeous pair of leather boots. I was surprised to find them at our local Famous Footwear because their shoe selection usually lacks variety and non-sporty brands.

Today at lunch my friend congratulated me on "succesfully matching black and brown". That hadn't even crossed my mind, but I like the all neutral look. Also, this wrapdress is somehow one of the most comfortable and the most chic items in my closet. The boyfriend sweater is equally comfy but unfortunately the heat at school was turned up to a MILLION degrees. Tomorrow: sandals and shorts.

Rainy Day

After finals last week, a long weekend was completely necessary. I spent my time at yoga, celebrating a friend's birthday, shopping and cleaning. For the first time in a while, all my clothes are clean and organized in my closet. Amazing! Hopefully this will make getting ready easier.

It rained last night so all the snow turned into that wonderful grey mush. Hence, the rainboots. A military jacket, simple tee, and light scarf were perfect for an afternoon at the library. Back to school tomorrow as a second semester senior! Woohoooo!

Jewelry Box

What do you do when you're snowed in with nowhere to go? Photoshoot! My friends and I played around in our jewelry boxes and put together some looks focused on our favorite pieces. Each look would work for a different occasion and most of them make me miss summer. Thanks to Julia for modeling and Hannah for photographing!

Inspiration

As I'm typing this, we're being snowed in by the first of the monstrous Chicago storms. I love winter but sometimes it's hard to get motivated to wear anything but cozy leggings and sweaters. These lovely ladies from all over the country always boost my spirits and have creative ideas for any weather--especially my fellow Chicagoan  Jane of http://seejaneworkplaylive.blogspot.com/.

Out of the Darkness

Hello people! It's been forever! The past month I've been drowning in college applications, final projects and general holiday business. Things are finally winding down and I'm trying to go back to my regular schedule, which includes my daily narcissistic posts! Get excited.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

One Monday

The craziest thing happened today. For the first time in about two years, I wore sweatpants to school. I know what you're thinking: "this girl's crazy!!!!" Right? Well much to my surprise the world did not stop turning and I was actually quite comfortable.

I wore this outfit last week and felt classy. I have a habit of going many days without wearing color during the winter, but with the right textures and accessories neutrals can be interesting. Ya'll know I love my lace and this silver cascading necklace is a new favorite. This white tee is perfect for wearing sequins during the day because it's casual with a smattering of shimmer. Although my mother didn't approve of my matching skills, I think these camel oxfords work to show off the rest of the look. Happy Monday All!
