Clothes Swap

Day 6: More Lacey Tops

I borrowed two lace tops from Kristin and she only borrowed one from me, so she styled this top again in a different way. Actually, the blue oxford and the coral cami are also mine. Mad clothes swap skillz! I never thought of wearing this lace tank as an undershirt but I'll definitely try it when we switch back. It so strange looking back at this picture from just a few days ago cause now it's so hot I can't imagine wearing jeans and boots.

Also, sorry the clothes swap pics on the regular home feed aren't in chronological order. The ones on this page are and the posts have the same titles so you can probably figure it out.

Day 5: Splotchy Skirts

Here is Kristin's take on "Splotchy Skirt Day". This skirt from Loft was one of those purchases that looked really pretty on the rack and I didn't think through what it would match in my closet. It definitely works with a variety of black tops, but I'm not too sure about many other colors. Any ideas?

Also, Kristin folded over the waistband (usually black) and made it look like a fuschia belt. Very interesting...

Day 4: Floral Blouse

This blouse has the amazing quality of matching everything. I guess its kind of a neutral, but the pattern and the color make it seem like it would only match a few things. I like it with Kristin's grey skirt better than with my pencil skirt. Good call, K-dog (best nickname ever?). We both wore our small florals on Thursday to school and then to a movie party. We watched No Strings Attached, which I had never seen. It was cute and occasionally hilarious, but not the best from Ashton Kutcher. Also, it's weird that another movie is coming out this summer with the exact same premise except it stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake. Either way, it was fun to hang out during the week for once and hopefully we'll have another fun party to watch the Glee finale this week!

Day 3: Embellished Tee

Well, this is awkward. We happen to have paired this top with the exact same skirt from Loft, probably even in the same size. Great minds think alike, right? Well, then great minds can get boring. To be fair, I tucked the top into my skirt and Kristin wore it over the waist. Didn't you notice that glaring difference?

This is one of my favorite plain tees because its super simple yet has enough detail in the rouching and beading to look chic. We had an interesting conversation about the color of this shirt. I think we decided on "grey-pink". If you're wondering where that fits in ROYGBIV, you clearly don't know your colors as well as we do.

Day 2: Lace Tank

Day two people. If this whole post sounds really strange, just ignore me because I'm in a weird mood. I haven't had any homework this week so it feels like I'm back in elementary school and my maturity level has dropped to that of a 4th grader. Ok, 3rd grader.

So Day Two was "lace tops", which many of you know I'm obsessed with. Actually, I like anything lace. Or pearls. That makes me sound really girly, am I? This day in particular makes me love this clothes swap because I'm getting new inspiration on how to wear things I already own. Kristin wore my lace shirt with my floral navy cami and I would've never thought to pair them together. As you can see below, I've worn the lace top in a few different ways, but usually with a plain, dark shirt underneath. Also, I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but Kristin's boyfriend cardigan is army green. Bravo for wearing two clothes swap items together!

Day 1: Blue Tunic

Wow, that just took a crazy amount of time to load those pictures correctly. I guess after a year and a half I still haven't mastered the blogosphere. Anyways, let me introduce you to the clothing swap. My friend Kristin and I were bored of our own closets but, being teenagers, we don't have a ton of money so we raided each other's wardrobes. Both of us took pieces that our different from our normal style and we're experimenting, riskfree. I'll post my outfits on my homepage, but Kristin's will be on this page. I've also included some ways that I've worn the featured piece to show how each of us applies our unique style to the same piece.

The featured piece for today is the blue tunic from Old Navy. I swear that when I bought it a few years ago it was a dress, but either I've grown or it has shrunk. Maybe it was just scandalous before and my standards were so low that I didn't even notice. Middle school will do that to you...Luckily I've come to my senses (and Kristin agrees) and realized this is not a dress. However, that does not need I have to wear it with pants, a fact both of us took advantage of.  I would also like to point out that Quinn Fabray has this striped sweater on Glee, which kind of proves my point that I'm Rachel Berry and Kristin is Quinn. Don't worry, I'm not a psycho singer, in fact I can't really sing, and none of my friends are teen moms.....that I know of.
