Canvas Tote
Hey guys! Last week I announced there was a new, surprise section being added to my blog. Here it is!! I'm in a sewing class at school and whenever we finish a project I'll be posting it on here for y'all to see. This bag was our first real creation and hopefully we'll do a tunic, vest and/or dress by the end of the semester. I'm really happy with how my first sewing endeavor went! Every aspect was so fun: picking out the fabric, cutting out the pattern pieces, and actually sewing it together. I've always considered going into fashion and these fun moments give me hope that there's a career out there that could make me so happy it doesn't seem like work.
This bag was mainly about learning the basic sewing techniques and testing them out on something that doesn't need to fit perfectly. I actually made two bags but the other one is at school for my teacher to grade. They're twin bags because the other one has red on the outsides and flowers in the middle. I like that one a little better so it'll be on here when I get it back.
One last thought. Isn't it crazy that a pile of fabric can turn into something cute and functional?
