Silpada Jewelry

Hey Guys! Here's a peek at the dress I wore (multiple times) over Christmas break. If you can't tell, I'm bedazzled by some beautiful Silpada jewelry. My aunt is a representative and she now shows up to family functions with tote bags full of adorable jewelry. I really think jewelry can set the mood of an outfit while adding some sparkle or shine. Here are a few ways to style the same outfit different ways by changing jewelry.

Check out Silpada Sterling Silver Jewelry at www.mysilpada.com/julie.charrette . They have all sorts of styles from simple sterling silver to pearls, colored beads to turqoise. I love the pearls but feel free to roam around the site and find your favorite pieces.

This is a simple party look: solid colored embellished dress with all silver jewelry. The different textures of the pieces make it interesting but the similar metals keep it sleek. The pearl ring below is one of my favorites.

This is more of a business/day look that could also work for a holiday party. I added a simple black blazer to make the dress more day appropriate and used that as a base for black, shimmery accesories. I love the matching necklace and bracelet in black and silver glass beads!

Excuse my awkward mime-like poses, I haven't mastered the art of hand modeling.

For this look I wanted to go really simple and let the jewelry stand out. My hair is kind of covering up this awesome feather necklace so check out a good picture at http://mysilpada.com/sites/public/content/jewelry/productList.jsf.

The Silpada ladies are masters of layering, and my aunt thought up this creative combo. I like how the necklaces go from dainty to huge. There's a big meeting every year and according to my aunt all the representatives are completely decked out in pounds of jewelry.

Day 24: Garden Florals

Hey guys! Almost. Done. I have a bunch of pics piling up (digitally that is) to show you guys. Here's a simple look from the challenge. I wore it on a Friday and put in just enough effort not to look like a hobo. I have issues remixing this top because of the empire waist/ruffles/floral combo. Any ideas?

Hope everyone's staying warm!

Day 23: Opening Night

Hey guys! This outfit is also in the top five of the challenge looks. I wore this to opening night of a play my mom is producing, so I needed to look a little fancier. This is the type of situation where you really feel limited by your 30 pieces, but I picked one of my two dresses and accessorized. The long boyfriend sweater added warmth and gave the outfit a relaxed, artsy look for the occasion. (the play is mainly folk music and it's in this tiny theater) My mom picked up this cool pair of tights, but of course I ripped them at Christmas dinner. Stupid jagged nail sticking out of the table! Anyways, for the one night they lasted, they made the look more visually interesting. I'm not sure if the stripes are supposed to twist around your legs or if my legs are just abnormal. Ahh life's unanswerable questions...

Oh! I also finally found a hairstyle that I like and I'm capable of doing. Like all good innovations, it happened on accident. The day before I curled my hair in rollers overnight (the only way the curls stick) but it turned out WAY too crazy. I pulled it into a ponytail and went to bed like that. The next day my hair was perfectly wavy on top and still had curls at the bottom. I describe this hairstyle as "The Samantha," as in the American Girl Doll from the turn of the century.

Day 22: Love at First Sight

Hey guys! This is one of my favorite 30 for 30 looks. The proportions confuse me in a good way, but the colors are really simple. I was getting tired of wearing jeans or my skirts so I said "Who needs pants!" The lace tank seemed just long enough to be acceptable and the blazer kept me covered up on top. I think the main reason I loved this look is because it looks polished yet interesting AND it's super comfy.

Random Fact: I just discovered how to make my boots taller. No, it does not involve magic. Sorry you Harry Potter fiends. Roll them up! Tada! Such a difference.

Day 21: Insert Clever Title

Hey guys! Happy New Year! I'm being a total lazy butt about catching up on the 30 for 30, but don't worry, it'll happen. I also have some holiday looks to post. This outfit was super simple and, in my opinion, still cute. I really like the color scheme, including the earrings, and the details make it more interesting. I'm in love with these lace skirts from target that probably about 50% women in America also own. This tee is great because it matches everything and has a billowy shape unlike the average v-neck. These earrings were a birthday present from Ten Thousand Villages. It's this store that sells crafts/jewelry from other countries and then gives the artisans part of the profits.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are still sticking to your resolutions! New Year's Eve outfit coming up....
