Bonjour!

Hey guys! I've finished the busiest part of the school year so I officially have a lot more time to devote to this blog. I decided to switch it up a little this week with a theme. I'm creating French-like outfits the next five days; its meant to be more of an inspiration than an attempt at imitation. I love the chic, nautical, preppy and exquisitely fashionable styles of the French. Here is some of my inspiration from French Vogue's "Street Looks" section:

Compared to these stylish ladies, my American-bought outfit looks pretty plain, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I started the week off a little sporty and there are fancier looks to come.

Haha ok so the idea behind this picture was that I don't have my own European Vespa, but I do have a Razor. Even though not exactly a cute little red scooter, I'll make it work.

Splash of Summer

Hey Guys! I'm so excited to be done with my AP classes and almost finished with the lacrosse season. Hopefully I'll be making more frequent posts in the upcoming weeks. This little outfit is what I wore last Saturday just around town. I love the top-it seems to exude summer! The shorts are basic with a few utilitarian details. With my pink sandals I think it makes the perfect cute and simple summer outfit. Unfortunately, this weekend it was FREEZING so its back to winter clothes for now.

Fashionable Friend

Hey Guys! Omigosh I haven't posted in over 20 days!! This is craziness. I know my billions of fans are so disappointed haha I know there's at least one out there. I decided to kick things off with a little "Fashionable Friend" post. This one's about my friend (since 1st grade!!) Hannah, who just went to Paris over spring break. Like any stylista, she felt especially fashion-conscious there and took extra time with each ensemble.

Here's one of Hannah's favorite looks in her words:
cardigan: old navy
graphic tee: delias
skirt: BMV (department store in paris, like macy's ishh) from the designer kookai. its hard to tell from this pic, but there's a bow on the left side, that's the random bulge...haha
flats: (old) target
pink bow clip: F21 (personally, i think they should just change their name to that, it's shorter and cuter and easier to say, lol)

I love this outfit because its cute, urban, and artsy at the same time. The classic blazer polishes it up while the jeans keep it relaxed. LOVE the bag and scarf as colorful accesories.

scarf: old navy
blazer: marshalls
shoes: marshalsbag: delia's
jeans: deliastank: target

Fashionable Friend Quote: "This was the outfit i went shopping in on my birthday :) this is a very urban chic outfit, i think.and i'd normally wear this outfit with some dangly earrings, hoops or the flower ones i just got."

I also love this cute Parisian look. The navy and cream "classic Breton fisherman's" style has a page of its own in the May issue of Vogue and is on the "What's Hot" list in Harper's Bazaar's current issue.
Hannah's Words: "Knit dress also from a random boutique on the famous champs elysse (famous shopping street)this would normally also have dangly earrings, my silver charm bracelet, and black flats."
Trendy scarves she bought me and another friend as gifts. I didn't want to wear it for days because the twisty packaging was so cool. Since she knows me well, Hannah picked the purple on for me.
Interview:
1. How would you describe your style?
*unanswered* I would describe her style as feminine and occasionally boho.
2. If you had all the money in the world, where would you shop?
promode (my favorite shop in paris)
3. What major trends did you see in Paris?
~STRIPES!
~SCARVES!!!
~black

~flowy, loose things and SUPER tight things paired together (not that weird, just everyone did it)

~studding
4. What piece do you want to steal from my closet? why?
You're turquiose flats because they go with more things than you'd think and they're AHDORABLE
5. What's your favorite bargain store?
Delia's and Forever 21

Happy Easter

Hey guys! I hope everyone's having a happy Easter and beautiful weather like here in Chicago. I'm trying to take more pics outside now that the weather is amazing (it'll probably snow again this spring....) We just got back from church and we're preparing for a brunch at our house. I usually wear a dress or boring skirt on Easter so this year I attempted to look more modern while keeping the springy look. This skirt is another reject from my mom-- I have no idea how clothes just appear in her closet. Anyways, its a bright floral pattern so I matched it with a simple pink cami and cream cardigan. Pink sandals also add a more modern touch than my go-to flats.

Skirt: Tara Jarmon (my mom's)

Yeah I'm up at Brooklyn

Hey guys! This is the first outfit from my short but amazing trip to New York. Considering we woke up at 4:30 am uncomfortable clothing was not an option. Usually that means I avoid fashionable clothing so I changed it up and tried to look decent. I started with this soft, fluffy ombre scarf for my birthday because makes a statement while being comfortable. I layered a brown cami and loose purple tee underneath for the layering affect. Leggings are a great alternative to sweats and the boots look put-together. Luckily our flight went without any glitches which meant a full day in Brooklyn! On Saturday I breakfasted on some delicious NY bagels while I tried to wake up. Next we hit the streets for some boutique window shopping, chilling at various parks and tasty cookies in the local bakery. I lived in Brooklyn when I was a baby so we visited the old house and I realized how different my life would've been if we'd stayed. It would have been interesting to grow up in the city, but I'm happily living in the 'burbs.

Paint-Splattered

Hey guys! I have so many outfits to post from my trip to New York and this one from the week before. My friend Kristin and I did a mini clothes swap: I lent her a floral dress (not yet seen on this blog) and she lent me this adorable F21 skirt. It has so many colors in it that it was pretty easy to style. I wanted to show off the skirt without being super boring in a white tee. Its partially visible in these pictures, but this tee is tie-dyed light blue. I wore a turquoise/blue cami underneath to add a little detail. As usual, blacks flats go with everything. Thanks Kristin!

Tee: American Eagle Outfitters
Skirt: Forever 21

Bracelet: Tiffany's
Up-close and personal with that adorable skirt. I titled this blog "Paint-splattered" cause its my best guess as to what this pattern is called. Its not floral, geometric or tie-dyed so paint-splattered it is!

Empire State of Mind

Hey Guys! I'm off to New York City tomorrow and I'm pretty excited to observe the diverse styles of people throughout the neighborhoods. I'm trying to change up my style a bit to accentuate contrasting bohemian and preppy pieces. Hopefully there will be a computer where I'm staying so I can update this otherwise the pics will all be up the day I get back. Have to finish packing now. So excited!!

Summer Has Arrived

Hey Guys! I'm pretty much adjusted to taking my pictures either at 7:00 in the morning or 9:00 at night so I might look a little crazy in them. This outfit is from Sunday when I went to see my friend in a local play. We had warm weather last week so I whipped out the summer box and was eager to wear some bright colors. It ended up being freezing by nighttime, but I still wore my sandals. I love the colorful patterned top which I got in 6th grade?? I have no idea how it still fits. It is one of my only camis that matches this shrug perfectly because they're both VERY green. I mixed it up a little bit with the pink sandals and orange bag to get the rainbowy summer feel. There's more where that came from!

Guess Who's Back

( Ok so now the only time I can take pics is in the morning so I will be looking a little tired...excuse my face)

Hey Guys! As you can see, I'm still alive, I've just had a busy schedule with lacrosse practice everyday. I reorganized my system of taking pictures and when I work on the blog, so I hope to keep up! Thankfully I have a few outfits to post so I'll start with what I was wearing today and work backwards. I DIY hemmed this skirt yesterday in a sewing frenzy with my mom. It was pretty exciting because about 50% of her wardrobe is LONNNNGGG skirts from the nineties (was that trend ever in....) so we chopped off the bottoms of two dresses and one skirt. I did this pink one myself so its a lil' bit crazy but if i don't stand still nobody notices.
This dress has little shape so a belt was necessary. There are two others that kinda worked but I liked this one the best because the color wasn't too matchy-matchy and the overall style worked. Although it may look sunny outside, it was about a 45 degree high today so the blazer stayed on. I just whipped out the summer box and found these adorable sandals. I was going to say summer shoes are more exciting than winter, but it all depends on your individual wardrobe.

Wish it Was Spring

Hey guys! I have no idea how many people actually follow this blog, but I in fact did not fall off the face of the earth since I last posted February 18th. It has been a mix of busy and unfashionable weeks soI haven't been able to post. Luckily, my dad just came back from a trip and got me a few cute things to refresh my wardrobe. He got this adorable cardigan, which I love because I own nothing in that color and everyone could use a basic cardigan. After a few days of uninspired outfits I wanted to come back with a bang so this outfit is one of the fanciest I would wear to school. The skirt's pattern is great and not too obvious while the layering on top adds a casual element. Tights are kind of necessary since apparently spring doesn't come until May???

My younger sister took these pictures and she hasn't quite grasped the concept of "H2T" as Tyra Banks would say. (head to toe)

Originally, I didn't think the belt would work, but it added needed detail to the outfit.

Sweater: H&M
T-shirt: Old Navy
Cami: Costco
Skirt: Ann Taylor Loft
Tights: my mom's....
Shoes: Thrifted
Earrings: Tiffany's

NEW EARRINGS!! I'm in love with my new Elsa Peretti for Tiffany's heart earrings. They're one of the very few "fancy" pieces I own and good for special occasions. Hearts have been my favorite since I was little because I was born on Valentine's Day and I always thought people were just celebrating my birthday with all the heart cards. Haha goes to show how self-centered Baby Victoria was :)
